Evlo partners with CreditLadder to help renters build their credit history and advance Financial Freedom for Everyone

Evlo today announces a new partnership with CreditLadder, the UK’s first and biggest rent-reporting platform, to help more renters build a stronger credit history by having their rent payments reflected on their credit file.

The partnership is the next milestone in Evlo’s industry-leading Financial Freedom for Everyone campaign, which is calling for reforms that make the credit system fairer and more inclusive for renters.

Through this collaboration, Evlo will be able to connect its renter customers, especially those with “thin file” or limited credit history, to a practical tool that helps them build a more visible financial profile over time.

Asif NadeemChief Transformation OfficerEvlo: “At Evlo, our mission is financial inclusion, helping people move back towards mainstream finance. Rent is one of the biggest monthly payments many people make, yet it hasn’t consistently helped renters build their credit history. Partnering with CreditLadder is a practical step we can take right now to help change that, while we continue to lead the industry push for broader reform through Financial Freedom for Everyone.”

Sheraz Dar, Chief Executive Officer, CreditLadder: “We’re delighted to partner with Evlo in our efforts to get every tenant in the UK reporting their rent payments and to help tenants use what is typically their biggest monthly expenditure to improve their credit position.”

The Financial Freedom for Everyone Campaign

Across the UK, financial exclusion remains a major challenge. Evlo’s Financial Freedom for Everyone campaign highlights that 20.2 million adults are financially underserved, one in three cannot access mainstream credit, and 5.6 million are “credit invisible”, meaning they are unable to demonstrate creditworthiness because they lack enough recorded credit history.

For millions of renters, this problem is compounded by an outdated inconsistency: while mortgage payments typically support a homeowner’s credit profile, rent payments, often one of the largest monthly commitments, do not consistently help renters build credit history.

In October 2025, Evlo and a coalition of financial services organisations and consumer advocates submitted a representation to HM Treasury ahead of the Autumn Budget, calling for rental payment data to be included in credit scoring and for tenants to be given a clear route to share positive rent-payment data with credit reference agencies.

The partnership with CreditLadder supports that same objective by making it easier for renters to have rent payments reported to major credit reference agencies.

Today, CourtCorrect and Evlo announced a new partnership focused on faster, more consistent complaint resolution and the deployment of AI to enhance the frequency, accuracy, and coverage of compliance reviews in lending and collections to cover 100% of all applications.

How the partnership began

CourtCorrect was first introduced to Evlo by Chris Cutter, Chief Risk Officer. We initially demo’d the tool to him and several other key stakeholders at Evlo, highlighting its versatile and comprehensive AI functionality. The initial focus was on our core offering, complaints management, but Chris soon had other ideas about how we could collaborate…

“From the first demo, it was clear CourtCorrect could transform complaints handling. But we quickly saw a bigger opportunity: using its safe, auditable AI to bring together every element of the customer journey: lending, collections, interactions, and outcomes, into a single view.

Until now, our end-to-end reviews were limited to small samples and insights took time to extract. With CourtCorrect, we can look at every interaction and turn it into actionable intelligence straight away. That supports our aim of advancing financial inclusion, strengthens how we deliver Consumer Duty, and gives us the ability to drive fairer outcomes much more quickly.”

From introduction to the live pilot

Within weeks of the first conversation, the teams launched a pilot of the CourtCorrect complaints platform. Working closely with Evlo’s operations and customer teams, CourtCorrect mapped Evlo’s ways of working into their instance of the CourtCorrect Platform. We then began onboarding complaints handlers and teams.

“It’s been a real pleasure working with the fantastic team at Evlo. Our close collaboration has enabled us to deliver significant value to their complaints process in a short space of time.” Josh Lewis, Customer Support Manager at CourtCorrect

James Burford (Head of Compliance):

“We’ve been really impressed with how quickly CourtCorrect has added value. Getting the platform up and running was straightforward, allowing our teams to spend less time on admin and more time focusing on getting the right outcome for the customer. The insight we’re now getting will help us to spot risks earlier, drive consistency, and provide more meaningful feedback to the business. It’s a real step forward in how we manage complaints — and one we’re looking to build on.”

We’ve been working hard to optimise the Platform to Evlo’s needs, holding in-depth sessions to understand where we can make further improvements to really offer exactly what Evlo needs.

In-person collaboration in London (and a well-earned Dishoom)

CourtCorrect visited Evlo’s London office to workshop future applications of CourtCorrect AI. The working session focused on practical use cases, knowledge-sharing, and building the relationships that underpin effective delivery — capped off with a team dinner at Dishoom.

“From the moment we met the Evlo Team, we knew that this partnership was going to be a winner! Our organisations share the same values of delivering for customers and providing support where others can’t. Our teams think in the same direction (at times, literally!) and given our shared growth ambitions, we are incredibly excited to partner with Evlo on both complaints resolution and internal assurance.”

New use case identified: AI Custom Fields for lending risk

The in-person workshop surfaced a high-value opportunity to enhance and scale Evlo’s lending and collections review processes using CourtCorrect’s latest technologies. The system enables Evlo to translate its underwriting checklist into fine-tuned AI models that can then apply these criteria at scale, across all cases. The AI then reviews supporting documents and file data to flag risks, highlight anomalies, and populate the scorecard with high-quality, accurate answers in seconds.

What this means

  • Faster applications: Documents are read on upload and key fields are auto-completed, so reviewers validate exceptions instead of re-keying data—cutting time from intake to decision.
  • Reduced risk & clearer risk profiles: The AI cross-checks stated information against supporting evidence, flags missing documents and inconsistencies, and surfaces risk signals early in the journey.
  • Consistency & policy adherence: Every file is assessed against the same version-controlled checklist; rationales are captured as structured data so decisions align with underwriting policy.
  • Greater coverage, richer data: Apply the checklist to 100% of loan applications (not just samples), generating more datapoints for MI, trend analysis, and ongoing model/policy tuning.

Looking ahead

The partnership is now firmly established and the results are looking promising. We’ve built our technology to be scalable and as we expand our collaboration with Evlo, we’ll be looking to expand usage and business impact even further.

It has been an absolute pleasure collaborating with Evlo thus far. We have enjoyed the opportunity to further optimise our complaints offering, whilst also embarking on an engaging innovation journey to enhance and scale lending and collections assurance.

About CourtCorrect

CourtCorrect is an AI startup based in London, focusing on the safe deployment of artificial intelligence for complaints resolution and operational resilience in regulated sectors. We partner primarily with financial services firms to deploy AI tools to address specific pain points in their customer journeys and improve outcomes for their customers.

Evlo Partners with Moneyline to Support Non-Prime Customers with Access to Critical Financial Resources

Evlo, a responsible lender committed to supporting customers across the credit spectrum, has announced a new partnership with community finance provider Moneyline to help underserved non-prime borrowers access the support they need, especially when they need it most.

Every month, thousands of applicants seek credit through Evlo who may not meet lending criteria, but their search for financial support doesn’t stop there. Through this partnership, Evlo will ensure these customers are signposted to Moneyline, a trusted not-for-profit lender that provides small, affordable loans to those most at risk of exclusion.

“We know that not everyone who applies for credit with us will be eligible, but we believe in doing right by every customer,” said Asif Nadeem, Chief Transformation Officer at Evlo. “This partnership means that even when we can’t lend, we can still point customers toward helpful, trusted resources — like those offered by Moneyline — that may support them on their financial journey.”

CFor customers where credit isn’t the solution, customers will gain access to Moneyline’s MoneyToolkit — a free digital hub offering budgeting tools, gambling support. cost-saving tips, and an embedded benefits calculator that helps individuals identify unclaimed government support they may be entitled to. This toolkit is designed to empower customers to take control of their finances, improve their financial resilience, and reduce reliance on credit for essential needs.

“This partnership is about shared values,” added Shiona Crichton, CEO at Moneyline. “Evlo is acknowledging that a customers ability to afford the loan and provide a good outcome comes first — and by working with us, they’re helping customers take control of their financial journey even if it starts in a different direction.”

With rising costs of living and ongoing barriers to mainstream credit, non-prime and underserved households often turn to unregulated or harmful lending alternatives. By working together, Evlo and Moneyline aim to offer a safer, supported route, ensuring that people don’t fall through the cracks simply because of where they are on the credit spectrum.

Together, Evlo and Moneyline are demonstrating how collaboration between commercial and social lenders can improve access to credit, protect vulnerable consumers, and promote financial inclusion at scale.

Everyday Loans rebrands to Evlo and strengthens leadership team to tackle Financial Exclusion.

  • Financial inclusion sector leader Everyday Loans rebrands as Evlo
  • Evlo appoints Deborah Green as Chief Operating Officer, who brings substantial experience to enhance the company’s offering

Everyday Loans has today rebranded as Evlo, marking a new era in its mission to help meet the credit needs of the 16 to 17 million people who cannot access mainstream credit. Alongside the rebrand, Evlo has appointed consumer credit expert Deborah Green as Chief Operating Officer to help drive the company’s next stage of growth.

Evlo specialises in supporting customers who have been given the credit cold shoulder, those with little credit history or previous credit challenges. The rebrand embodies Evlo’s focus on financial inclusion, transparency, simplicity and customer-centricity. It signals a renewed emphasis on helping customers improve their credit scores and gain access to mainstream financial products, as opposed to just offering short-term lending solutions. The move also reflects Evlo’s desire to engage both non-prime and near-prime customers, helping as many people as possible regain control and build a creditworthy future.

The rebrand reflects Evlo’s evolution since its founding in 2006, as both the business and the non-prime lending market have changed significantly. Today, an estimated 16 to 17 million people in the UK have low or limited credit histories, up from 12 to 13 million in 2018. Many are locked out of traditional borrowing, pushing them toward unlicensed or unauthorised money lenders.

The appointment of Deborah Green as Chief Operating Officer strengthens this new direction. Deborah began her career at Halifax in the early ’90s and has since had over 15 years of experience in the consumer credit sector, holding leadership roles at Vanquis and Cabot Financial. A consistent theme throughout her career has been supporting customers who have been locked out of mainstream lenders, making her a natural fit for Evlo’s mission. Deborah will oversee Evlo’s operations, help the team better understand the challenges facing customers, and connect them with their services.

Jono Gillespie, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
“Evlo marks the beginning of a new era in our mission to tackle financial exclusion. This rebrand reflects our ambition to provide credit and lead the industry in responsible lending and accessibility. With Deborah’s expertise and passion for supporting those in financial hardship, we are strengthening our commitment to customers who need us most.”

Deborah Green, Chief Operating Officer, added:
“Throughout my career, I have been steadfast in my belief that truly understanding customer needs is the foundation of a great business. I have seen firsthand how limited access to credit can impact lives, sometimes preventing people from obtaining essential goods and services, which is why this is a great time to join Evlo as it embarks on its renewed mission to make a real difference for our customers. In a world that’s becoming more digital by the day, we believe the human touch still matters. At Evlo, our people meet customers face-to-face, listen, and find real solutions when it matters most”.

About Evlo:

Evlo is a business committed to financial inclusion, helping customers build a stronger financial future by empowering them with a personal, human approach and responsible borrowing options.

Evlo Brings Its Populat Face-To-Face Lending Approach to Dundee

The UK’s largest branch based lender of unsecured loans, specialising in helping those with less-than-perfect credit, is bringing its popular face-to-face lending approach to Dundee giving local people the opportunity to discuss their borrowing needs in person with its experienced account managers.

The branch – which is located on Reform Street in the city centre – is Evlo’s sixth in Scotland, alongside Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline, Hamilton and Paisley and takes its branch network to 74 across the UK, serving over 60,000 borrowers.

This extensive network means that Evlo’s customers tend to live within a 30-minute commute to a branch, so they benefit from personal conversations with their dedicated account managers. It is the only unsecured sub-prime loan provider to operate in this way.

Evlo in Dundee will provide customers – many of whom have experienced financial difficulties in the past – with a professional and friendly environment to discuss their finances. Committed to responsible lending, it offers a case-by-case approach and ensures that every customer can comfortably afford repayments.

Branch Manager Andrea Cuthbertson, said: “We have a wealth of financial services experience and our local team knows what it takes to deliver a straightforward, face-to-face service.

“We take the time to understand our customers’ needs on a human level, which online processes can miss. It’s this personal approach that people love and helps us to build long-term relationships.”

Evlo Area Manager Donna Short agreed. She said: “Of course we take credit history into account, but we believe each of our customers should have the chance to build a creditworthy future.

“It’s our highly personalised approach that makes us most proud. This allows us to lend where others sometimes can’t or won’t. We’re very much looking forward to supporting the people of Dundee with their lending needs.”

Evlo has a partnership with On Hand and every employee at Evlo is given three volunteering days a year to support their local community.

Andrea Cuthbertson again: “Being socially responsible and ethical matters to everyone here and we look forward to supporting the causes that matter to Dundee.”

Evlo, based in Bourne End, has won the prestigious award for Best Customer Service in the Moneyfacts Consumer Awards 2023, beating several household names to the win, moving up from Highly Commended last year.

The company also scooped the Non-Mainstream Loan Provider of the Year award for the fourth year running.

Both awards are particularly significant as they combine honest customer feedback with the stringent assessment of the company’s financial services data by Moneyfacts’ expert judges, revealing which providers and financial products are indeed best in class.

Having met the assessment criteria of Moneyfacts’ research team – who drilled down into the small print of the lender’s product range and approach to service to assess its strengths and weaknesses – customers were then asked to inform judges of their customer service experience through an online questionnaire.

Evlo’ Chief Operating Officer Jason Bovington said: “We’re a customer-centric business with branch-based relationship lending at the heart of what we do. We’re delighted that some of the UK’s leading finance experts have recognised our products and services.

He continued: “I would like to thank our branch teams for their hard work and commitment to customer service in challenging times. This award is for them.

“I’d also like to thank all of those customers who took the time to vote for us. They consistently tell us how they benefit from the ongoing face-to-face meetings and support we provide, and it’s great for this to be recognised with this award.

He added: “The cost-of-living crisis has meant that the products and services we provide are more in demand than ever before, so ensuring that they are delivered fairly, responsibly, and affordably, is central to all we do. This is a testament to getting that right.”

New HR Director Jenny Jackson has joined Evlo to champion the value of people in the business and develop a range of new initiatives to attract and retain the best talent.

With an 18-year background in HR roles across the banking and finance sector, including Metro Bank, RBS, Barclays and Deloitte, Jenny is tasked with re-energising the firm’s approach to managing its 800-strong workforce spread across 77 branches UK-wide and a Bourne End HQ.

She said: “ I am relishing the chance to help enhance our offering to new and existing staff alike, ensuring Evlo remains an enjoyable workplace for years to come.

“People are what make a good business great, so investing in them is key – whether that be from the perspective of greater career progression, enhanced learning and development, increased benefits or a commitment to inclusivity “ she added.

Since the pandemic, the demand for flexible working has never been greater and this will be top of the priorities for Jenny. She commented: “Flexible working should not just mean allowing staff to work from home. Real flexibility comes from allowing employees to choose what’s right for their individual circumstances, within the structure of an agreed framework – more of a pick and mix approach.”

She continued: “One example could be not forcing people to take national bank holidays as days off. For varying cultural or religious reasons staff may in fact prefer to work over Christmas or Easter and take time off during Diwali or Eid instead. We will be reviewing all our policies to ensure they are as inclusive as can be and reflect the lifestyles of all our staff.”

Training and development will also be a main focus and not just for new starters, but to progress the careers of all existing staff. Jenny plans to provide people with a greater level of choice in their learning, including developing interests outside of work.

She said: “We will be launching academy-style training centres in each region to make it a great first experience at Evlo, using different tools and techniques and incorporating more interactive styles of learning such as quizzes and quick-fire sessions to increase retention.”

A new online learning portal will be introduced – a personalised, Netflix-style, one-stop-shop which will enable staff to take ownership of their own development.

“We are very excited about this,” said Jenny. “As well as the mandatory industry training, it will recommend new courses, guides, videos and even podcasts and content from TikTok and YouTube based on users’ previous activities, covering softer skills and also encompassing wellbeing and mental health.”

When not working Wirral-born Jenny following the fortunes of her beloved Everton FC and spending time with her family – she is married with two young daughters and a beagle dog!

Bourne End-based Evlo has won a prestigious customer service award for the third year running.

The fast-growing company that employs over 450 people across a 74-strong UK branch network has been crowned the Moneyfacts Best Non-mainstream lender of the year 2022. In addition to this, the company also won a highly commended (runners-up) award for Best Customer Service, judged across all sectors of the consumer financial services sector.

The Moneyfacts Consumer Awards help the public make the most of their money by showcasing the very best products and providers available when looking at their family, household and personal finances.

The public plays a vital part in the Moneyfacts Consumer Awards and this year was no different, with over 110,000 individuals having their say on over 140 separate organisations.

The combination of honest customer feedback with stringent assessment of the company’s financial services data by Moneyfacts’ expert judges make this a particularly meaningful accolade, revealing which providers and financial products are truly best in class.

Andrew Wayland, Chief Marketing Officer Evlo, commented: “It’s a huge credit to everyone that we have managed to achieve this for the third year in a row. As a branch based business, winning this award for the third consecutive year is testament to the great service our staff provide to our customers and their constant focus on delivering good outcomes everyday. . Needless to say, we’re delighted that our products and services have been recognised by some of the UK’s leading finance experts and so many of our customers across our nationwide network of branches.”

Evlo also came runner up in the Best Customer Service category.

Andrew Wayland again: “This award is judged across the entire financial services industry so not just our competitors but also the insurance, banking, mortgages and credit cards market. We are delighted.”
